3 In 1: Meet Gabbar, Madonna, Bindu – Parineeti Chopra’s Latest Avatars
SpotboyE.com was invited for the special screening of Meri Pyaari Bindu’s upcoming chapters at Yash Raj Studios this afternoon and they proved to be a treat
Parineeti Chopra
and Ayushmann Khurrana eagerly await the release of their upcoming film, Meri
Pyaari Bindu, which has been in news ever since it went on floors.
After garnering
immense appreciation for its teaser and Parineeti’s
playback debut (which
debuted exclusively on 9XM), the makers are all set to heighten curiosity by
dropping 5 chapters which take you through the lead pair’s breezy love story.
This afternoon,
we met Parineeti and Ayushmann for the special screening of the upcoming
chapters at Yash Raj Studios and the duo looked visibly elated.
A while ago, the first chapter of Parineeti Chopra and
Ayushmann Khurrana-starrer Meri Pyaari Bindu’s trailer – Samosa Aur Chutney -- gave us a peek into the latter’s character
recalling his first meeting with ladylove, Bindu.
Now, keeping
Samosa Aur Chutney apart, SpotboyE.com gives you EXCLUSIVE details of the other
four chapters the makers will release over a few days.
Chapter 2: Gabbar
Aur Sambha
Abhimanyu
(Ayushamann) and Bindu (Parineeti) become inseparable with time. While Bindu is
showcased as the mischievous, shortcut-loving chirpy girl, Abhi is the pliant
one. He acts as the perfect foil to Bindu’s character. In fact, at one point in
this chapter, he mouths “Agar woh Gabbar hai to main Sambha hoon, agar wo
Munnabhai hai to main Circuit hoon, agar wo Guruji hai to main Bhola hoon.”
Perfect way to
sum up their relationship.

Chapter 3:
Kalkatte Ki Madonna
Bindu aspires to
become a singer, but is bothered by her name – Bindu Shankar Narayan. She often
confides in Abhi that with a name like that, she doesn’t see herself becoming
famous. Being the loyal friend that he is, Abhi only uplifts her spirit.
PS:
Parineeti Chopra has sung the background numbers, Aaiye Meharbaan (sung by Asha
Bhosle in Howrah Bridge) and Abhi Na Jaao Chhod Kar (sung by Asha Bhosle in Hum
Dono) which form an integral part of the film.

Chapter 4: Bindu
Vs Maa
Bindu is
essentially a free-spirit – someone who doesn’t fit into the so-called
‘structured’ system of the society. Abhi’s mother is traumatised by the way
Bindu lives her life and advices her son to stay away as she fears that Abhi
will get influenced and stray. This chapter highlights why it’s difficult to be
‘different’.

Chapter 5: Mix
Tapes
Meri Pyaari Bindu
chronicles Abhi and Bindu’s relationship spanning 30 years (From 5-35 years).
In this chapter, the two decide to mix 20 of their favourite songs which
represent their time together and tells their story. This one also highlights
an important aspect of Bindu’s personality, yet again, elaborated upon by Abhi.
He says, “Bindu harr kaam adhoora chhod deti hai.” Post these lines, his character
is shown running on busy Kolkata streets, presumably in search of Bindu.
This leads to Chapter 6, which is what happens in the film.
After getting a
glimpse of the upcoming chapters, it wouldn’t be incorrect to say that while
Parineeti might have lost all that weight, her spunk, charm and spontaneity
remain intact. Ayushmann’s role is refreshing and we couldn’t help but notice
that the actor is effortless and fits the character like a glove.
In today’s times,
where twisted love stories pack the big screens, Meri Pyaari Bindu’s ebullient
approach is a welcome change.
