‘My Friend’s Teacher Told Her NOT To Wear Fancy, Coloured Bras,’ Says Angrezi Medium Actress Radhika Madan- EXCLUSIVE
Angrezi Medium actress Radhika Madan is quite vociferous and forthcoming about the Baar Bra Dekho campaign. The actress in an exclusive chat revealed an incident involving her best friend who was asked by her school teacher to wear nude coloured bras instead of fancy ones inside her uniform
Radhika Madan who has done 2 films so far namely Pataakha and Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota is geared up for her third big screen outing, Angrezi Medium co-starring Irrfan Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan. As much as the film is being talked about, her campaign Baar Bra Dekho is also being discussed.
Recently, in an interview with Telly Chakkar, she opened up on her awkward experience from school days when she had started wearing colourful bras and one day, a guy came up to her and pointed it out that her bra strap is showing. So, it made her realize that it’s considered quite an embarrassment when a girl’s bra strap is seen hence she decided to back this campaign to prove a point that it’s just a bra strap and people need to stop making a big deal out of it.
“We never point out boxers of guys, so stop making a big deal out of it,” said Radhika. Apart from the incident that she has already spoken about, was there any other such moment that left her embarrassed?
Radhika narrated an incident that involved her friend and said, “I remember when in school, a teacher pointed out to my best friend to 'wear a nude bra from the next day inside her school uniform'. It’s embarrassing because they make it sound like you have committed a crime.”
We asked if she believes the Baar Bra campaign will help change people’s rigid mindsets on this, to which she replied, “I don't know how far this campaign will change people's perception, but at least it will make them think.”
Angrezi Medium, directed by Homi Adajani and produced by Dinesh Vijan is slated to release on March 13, 2020.
