Deepika Padukone and Vikrant Massey’s Chhapaak has finally made a ‘splash’ on the internet today and this hard-hitting will send chills down your spine. Yesterday, the makers announced the arrival of the trailer of the film where they showed acid splashing while announcing the date, that itself gave us a hint that what we should be expecting in the trailer and now that trailer is out, it definitely lives up to our expectation. This day is even more significant because today is World Human Rights Day and since the film is about a person who has faced acid attack, it all makes sense.

Dippy plays Malti who leads a normal life but due to one sudden and tragic incident, her life completely changes when an attacker throws acid on her face. The trailer showcases her journey on how she deals with it while Vikrant Massey who stays beside her and eventually fall in love with Malti. The Meghna Gulzar’s directorial will definitely make you teary eye and after watching this traumatized journey and her struggle for justice will inspire you. Deepika as Malti looks impressive. Her prosthetic work does a commendable job in making her look similar to the real Malti. Talking about releasing the trailer today, Meghana was quoted by Mid Day saying, “It is actually a nice coincidence that our trailer is getting launched on the 10th of December, which also happens to be - Human Rights Day. Chhapaak is a story of acid violence. The basic act of acid violence violates the human rights of the person who is attacked by acid and their life, their physicality is changed forever.” Deepika Padukone essays the role of Laxmi Agarwal whose real-life experience is based on this film.
