Panga, Street Dancer 3D Box-Office Collection Day 1: Kangana And Varun-Shraddha Starrers Open On Unexpectedly Low Numbers

This Friday, Kangana Ranaut, Jassie Gill starrer Panga clashed with Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor led Street Dancer 3D. Panga collected Rs 2.70 crore, while Street Dancer 3D made a total collection of Rs 10.26 crore on Day 1 at the BO.

Kangana Ranaut, Jassie Gill, Richa Chadha, and Neena Gupta starrer Panga hit the theaters on Friday, setting up a clash with Remo D’Souza’s Street Dancer 3D starring Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead roles.  While the films are receiving rave reviews, they have opened on unexpectedly low numbers at the box-office on day 1. Panga collected Rs 2.70 crore, while Street Dancer 3D made a total collection of Rs 10.26 crore on Day 1 at the BO.

Tweeting the first-day collection of Panga and Street Dancer, Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#Panga records a low total on Day 1... Gathered momentum towards evening shows at select multiplexes, but occupancy at multiplexes of Tier-2 and 3 cities remained dull... Strong word of mouth should ensure growth on Day 2 and 3... SpotboyE Editor Vickey Lalwani rated Panga with 4 stars and Street Dancer 3D with 2.5 stars. About Panga he wrote, “I haven't seen Street Dancer that has made me almost dance on way back home. I have seen the Kangana Ranaut-led Panga. Like always, I shall not hold myself back; I hadn't liked its trailer. Lekin woh kehte hain na- never judge a book by its cover. It's the second time I have been rapped on my knuckles.”

While the Street Dancer 3D review read, “I'll come straight to the point because after seeing Remo D'Souza's Street Dancer 3D, that's one thing you will go back with- come to the point! Performances? Varun Dhawan does a fair job in what was offered to him, Shraddha Kapoor almost gets it but...Nora Fatehi- steals the show with her moves and Prabhudheva, not much present, yet delivers whatever part he got, with sincerity.”

Panga seems to be growing strong thanks to the positive word of mouth and hope it culminates into box-office figures as well.
