Love Aaj Kal Box-Office Collections Day 1: Kartik Aaryan-Sara Ali Khan's Film Manages To Beat Saif Ali Khan-Deepika Padukone's Record

Seems like, it was indeed a love day for Kartik Aayan and Sara Ali Khan as their film Love Aaj Kal received huge appreciation from the audience. Helmed by Imtiaz Ali, the film has been making a buzz for all the right reasons. Love Aaj Kal, who was already in comparison with Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer with the same title, hit the screens yesterday. Love Aaj Kal has made a double-digit opening on Day 1 at the box-office.
Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the numbers of Kartik and Sara starrer. His caption read, “#LoveAajKal packs a solid total on Day 1... Got a boost due to #ValentinesDay2020... Metros excellent, contribute to the big total... Tier-2 cities and mass belt ordinary/low... Will it collect in double digits on Day 2 and 3, is the big question... Fri ₹ 12.40 cr. #India biz." On top of that, Love Aaj Kal has become Aaryan's highest opener till date.
SpotboyE Editor Vickey Lalwani rated the film with 2.5 stars and wrote in his review, “A very engaging first half and a cup of hot tea in the interval drove me back inside with a lot of hope. But wait! Had I entered another film starring Sara Ali Khan and Kartik Aaryan? No, I knew I hadn't when I soon saw Randeep Hooda too on screen. However, one thing was certain. Imtiaz Ali was spiraling his labour of love downward and mind you, I hadn't finished half my chai till then. Kartik Aaryan has a difficult role which does not require him to go over the top at any stage, but I think he underplayed it a bit too much. However, I still think he did justice to whatever was asked from him.”
