Chhapaak: Laxmi Agarwal's Lawyer Aparna Bhat DETAILS Why She's UPSET With Deepika Padukone And Meghna Gulzar- EXCLUSIVE
Deepika Padukone starrer Chhapaak has miffed Laxmi Agarwal's lawyer, senior advocate Aparna Bhat (from Delhi) as she does not find her name in the credit titles. And, her battle is far from over yet.

What's the credit that you're asking for?
It's basics that if you take inputs from me on anything, you acknowledge me with a thanksgiving. This was not done, though I had been told that it will be done.

Okay, so Mehad met you during her research?
Yes.

DEEPIKA

Had you met Deepika Padukone?
Yes, I had gone to the shoot once when they were shooting in Delhi.

What did you think of the film?
I liked Vikrant Massey and the lady who played my character, Madhurjeet Singh.

DEEPIKA

Where did you see the film?
I was at the premiere in Delhi. I was stunned when I didn't see my name in the rolls. In fact, my colleague who was sitting next to me immediately mentioned it to me. Laxmi was seated on my other side.

Did you tell Laxmi about the omission of your name?
No, I did not. What has she got to do with my problem? And she must be in some contract with them, I assume.

DEEPIKA

Did you have a word with Meghna at the premiere?
Yes, I did. But she gave me some vague reply.

And then?
Then, I tried to sleep over it but could not. I felt that I had been shortchanged. Meanwhile, there were tweets from certain quarters about my name being not mentioned.

I sent an email to Meghna. She replied but it was not a convincing one.

Why have they not mentioned your name you think?
God knows. Let me make it clear to them through this interview that I am not asking any money from them, it's just a name in the credits.

CHAPAK

I didn't take any money from Laxmi, when I represented her. Why would I take from Chhapaak makers?

So you went to the Court?
Well, my friend asked the film's AD and she was told that the film is not based on Laxmi per se and it is a combination of true events and fiction- which is why my name was not included.

I tried my best to endorse their POV as I told you earlier that I tried to sleep over the omission, but I couldn't. So, I went to Court. And today, the Patiala court has asked them to put my name. My complaint was against Meghna and Deepika both as they have jointly produced Chhapaak.

Itna jaldi ho gaya? India mein legal fights take a long time...
You guys underestimate courts.

So, it's done. You should see your name on screen I guess from Monday..
Nope, not done, not yet. I mean, not fully.

I am told by my lawyers that their lawyers have decided to fight this in Higher Court.
